By clicking the “Yes I consent” button at the bottom of this page, you acknowledge that you understand and agree to the collection and processing of personal information relating to you as described in this Notice by Prometric Ireland who deliver the Driver Theory Test Service on behalf of the Road Safety Authority (RSA).
If you do not understand or agree to what is described in this Notice, you may not continue through the scheduling process, please contact Prometric (Ireland) in this instance.
Personal Data Privacy Disclosure & Consent
In the delivery of the Driver Theory Test Service by Prometric (Ireland), protection of your personal data and information, and making sure you understand how and why it is processed, is of paramount importance to us.
The RSA is the data controller of this personal data. As a data processor for the RSA, Prometric (Ireland) processes your personal information only for the purposes of registering and scheduling you for a test, administering that test, and processing the results.
At no time will your personal information be used by Prometric (Ireland) or the RSA for any other purpose without your permission. Your personal information, including your test results, will be provided to the RSA for the purposes of providing scores, certification, or other benefits to you in your future driving licence applications.
The RSA may provide this personal information to other third parties who provide services to the RSA in connection with driver licensing.
Prometric (Ireland) may employ other companies and individuals to perform functions on our behalf. Our employees, agents and contractors who have access to personal data and information are required to protect the information in a manner that is consistent with Prometric (Ireland)’s obligations to the RSA and in compliance with applicable law and we seek assurances from such third parties that they will provide the same level of privacy protection as Prometric (Ireland) requires and adheres to.
We do not transfer information to third parties who are not involved in the processing of data for Driver Theory Test or Driver Licensing purposes.
All personal data collected is stored in the EU within our secure datacentre located in Dublin, and is retained for a period of two years per legal and contractual requirements.
Once you have consented to the processing of and provided personal data you have the rights to access, limit the use of, or correct any inaccuracies in, or erasure of any personal information that we, on behalf of the RSA, hold relating to you by contacting Prometric (Ireland). If you feel the foregoing rights are not being upheld you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Irish supervisory authority.
- Please note as of 3rd September 2018, we will be capturing all candidates images at the point of check in when taking a Driver Theory Test.
- This image is being collected on behalf of the RSA and will help to verify candidate identity, prevent candidate misrepresentation and to ensure the RSA testing program continues to deliver a high quality and secure service.
- Please note all images are securely stored within our EU Datacentre and shared only with the RSA.
The collection, transfer, processing, use and storage of your personal data is necessary to administer a test to you, and Prometric (Ireland) cannot register you for a test if you do not agree to the collection of personal data and information processing by Prometric (Ireland).
You will have to contact Prometric (Ireland) if you do not agree to the collection, transfer, processing, use and storage of your personal data.
I acknowledge that by clicking “Yes I consent” below that I am expressly consenting to the collection and processing of my personal data, as described in the Driver Theory Test Privacy Notice and that such consent is effective until and unless I affirmatively withdraw that consent. Please note that withdrawal of consent will not affect the lawfulness of any processing that occurred prior to such withdrawal.
